Albany, N.Y. – SAGE Computer Associates, Inc. has launched a security practice to provide clients with services to protect critical information assets, which could include billing information, medical records or proprietary data.
“Our security consultation is designed to be as comprehensive as possible, expanding beyond the standard technology solutions such as firewalls and passwords,” said Jeff Cohn, SAGE’s President. “While these are important components in the overall protection of confidential information, today’s lapses are just as likely to occur through a stolen laptop or other occurrence that happens outside of a company’s secure computer network.”
SAGE’s full security audit documents the security rules, practices, policies, procedures, guidelines and preconceptions that the company or organization has established as policy or convention, then verifies that these procedures are actually followed throughout the company. The audit also tests existing procedures for efficiency and effectiveness while identifying security lapses.
“Our security practice is based on an all-inclusive risk management approach to business and technology,” said Jason Appel, who is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and will lead SAGE’s security practice. “We work to identify any security exposures within an organization, then design and implement reliable systems and procedures that can significantly decrease the chance of a security breach.” |
